I have invited Vince to join us at our next event, Vince reps a very nice cigar, "Don Gonzalas" more about this cigar will be posted later.   

 

 JULY 10 th Cigar Club - All are welcomed

OK guys its quickly approaching the next cigar night at the Leaf and Bean only two days away, this Thursday July 10th. 6 PM  Once again were planning a fun night of smoking some great cigars, being social and a few cold beverages. 
 
The grill will be set up and we will be expermenting with some Jamacian Jerk Chicken and some pineapple on the barbie.  We will be asking for a small donation to cover cost of food.
 
I will have some mixers here to make some frozen summer drinks, bring your additives, like rum or tequila.
 
Featured cigar will be the Altadis Cabinet Seleccion, we will have a Montecristo a Romeo y Juilieta and  a Por Larananga to chose from.  All of these are excellent cigars.

Thanks to everyone for coming down to the Leaf and Bean last night.  What a great time was had by all.  You guys and gals are great, you all made last night the best day of business that I have had since I opened my doors over three years ago.  I THANK YOU!  It was especially nice getting to meet some of you for the first time and reaquainting with others, this is what I think its all about, just getting together from a wide array of backgrounds and sharing a fine cigar and a bottle or two of good scotch. 
 
I am now starting work on the next one, July 10th, the 2nd Thursday because ot the holiday.  I have a couple of ideas for next month, but I would like to hear yours, if you have a cigar you would like us all to try, or know of a cigar rep that might be interesting in coming and showing thier product let me know - PLEASE.  Also if anyone knows any wine or spirit vendors who would be interested in coming in and promoting thier product, again let me know.  If any of you represent a product or service that you feel is beneficial to share with the Cigar Club, you are welcome to do so at our Cigar Club functions.
 
Please also I would like to have some feedback on what you thought of the Rocky Patel Decade, I would like to forward these comments to Rocky Patel, he's a hell of a nice guy and I'm sure he would like to hear your honest feedback and comments. Be watching for some additional Rocky Patel cigars to hit my shelves I have already placed an order.  All of Rocky's cigars are top of the line, and fortunatly for us they fit into the everyday budget, they are top of the line, and affordable.
 
Please I offer my apologizes to anyone I missed last night for your free cigar, if you brought someone last night that was not here last time and I didnt catch you with your free one, please let me know, I want you to have it.  Next time will be the same deal, with one change, when you get here I want you to introduce me to your friend so I can give it to you right away and not let things get away from me. Last night flew by, and some of you left before I had a chance.
 
Also thank you for your contributions to the Troops you made it possible to send Ray back to his unit with a lot of cigars, this is going to make his buddies very happy, and they need all the smiles and relaxing moments they can get.  Thank-you.

Reporting on Cigar Club May 8th

First smoke was lit around 6:00 PM and last smoke was put out about 1:00 AM, just not enough hours in the day to smoke all the cigars I want to, but here I am trying to recall all of last nights events at 7:30 AM, on my 2nd cigar and first bloody mary.  What a great time I had, and I think all of you did too.  By my count there were about 20 of us here last night, but some of you moved around a lot and I may have counted you twice.  The choice of cigars last night I think was a good one, even for me they are a special treat, and to start off our first event I think it was a very fitting cigar.  If you were here, I think you will agree, if you missed us last night, it sucks to be you, cause you really did miss a fine cigar.  I tend to ramble a bit in my writing, but bare with I'm sure somewhere in here there is a point or two to be made. If you like finding spelling and grammer errors when reading other peoples writings then read on, I just made your day.

One thing I would like to do is to thank Pat.  Pat approached me several months ago about starting and hosting an event like this, and through his persistance and encouragement as you last night witnessed it came to be.  So thanks Pat.

A couple of things that came up last night:

Next event, June 5th First Thursday in June, I think that we are going to try going with the First Thursday of each month.  Time will be from 6:00 to 8:00 PM with the understanding that I am happy to stay later, and probably will as long as I have cigars in the humidor.

Picking cigars for next event. Please if you a have cigar you would like to try and introduce to the rest of us let me know, I will work on getting it in, I have a few suggestions that I am working on from last night, but always welcome more. 

Selling myself, a very wise man pointed out to me last night that I need to sell myself and the products I have to offer at the Leaf and Bean more.  He's a wise wise man and I value his opinion and expertise, so please visit the Leaf and Bean more often not just on event nights, drink lots of my coffee that I fresh roast right here in the store, buy lots of cigars out of my humidor, come visit us every day, and remember that every Saturday from noon - 3:00 PM we have some of the best and most talented Singer Songwriters performing for you while you smoke those cigars and drink that coffee.  Oh, and we are wireless, so you can work while smoking a cigar.

Cigar Rep. Visits, I will be coordinating with some of my cigar reps to come to our events and showcase thier products, if you know of a certain cigar that you would like me to contact that rep. let me know.

Field trips.  I love my shop, you can always find me here, unless I'm someplace else, but sometimes I like to visit other cigar shoppes, maybe once in a while we can meet at another cigar shoppe for our event night, keep it in mind if you have a 2nd favorite cigar shoppe let us know.  A couple that come to my mind is the other Leaf and Bean in McMurray and the Leaning House of Cigars in Speers.

Cigars for the Troops, I'm not big on a lot of causes but one I do support is our troops, while I sit here in my nice comfortable cigar shoppe, smoking a fine cigar sipping the best coffee I ever had in the morning, and reaching into my cooler in the afternoon for an ice cold Heiniken, these guys and gals are putting it on the line, always on thier guard, never really relaxing or feeling completely safe.  No matter what your beliefs are on the war, they have it tough, and should not be forgotten.  One way we at the Leaf and Bean try to thank our troops and let them know that we are thinking about them is by sending some care packages out to them.  So I guess what I'm asking is that at our events while were having a great time lets take a minute to remember our guys and gals and each of us pick out a cigar for them. Smoking a cigar at the end of thier day is a nice way for them to escape for a few minutes.

Thank you again for coming to the Leaf and Bean first Cigar Club event last night, I love seeing people enjoy my space, it was great, looking forward to next month, June 5th, 6:00 PM till whenever, invite your friends and even people you dont like very much.

Cigar Club

 Our goal is to meet socially once a month in a relaxed, fun enviroment.  To enjoy premium cigars and meet new and old friends.  Each month, we will enjoy a new cigar, that we may not have had the opportunity to smoke in the past.  We will rate this cigar and post our ratings on this website.  Meeting at the Leaf and Bean in the Strip Cigar Shoppe is a hip thing to do.  Cigar Club is open to everyone who has an appreciation of fine cigars, from the novice to the huffer puffer.

 Cigar Club, is in the beginning stages.  Pat and myself were sitting around talking, saying just about everything we had to say.  The idea came up from Pat, that when he lived in Texas he started a cigar club.  So, we decided to give it a try.  Pat likes to talk, he likes to share his knowledge of cigars and also pick up on the knowledge of others.  Every cigar smoker is looking for the holy grail of cigars... was it the last one we smoked... the one we're smoking now... or the next one.  So why not?  So many cigars, so little time. I will supply the location, the cigars will be here for the purchase, you bring the wallet, your favorite cutter and the stories.  Share with us your favorite, or worst, cigar experience, your favorite, or worst, cigar.

At the first gathering, we would like to name our little club and pick out future smokes!!
