Clarence

thru death valley and beyond

Posted on February 19, 2010 at 3:52 PM

not knowing if jim and clarence went off the side of a mountain or got lost and dazed in the desert, jim finally called and checked in.  He's been out there, out of cell phone reach for a couple of days now.  He's been thru the mountains and has traversed his way thru death valley, with clarence making some strange humming sound and overheating thru the desert.  Oh no!  Could it be!! yet another service station in jim and clarence's future...............yes, it could.  The local shade tree mechanic that jim found said clarence had too thin a belt and exchanged it for a wider one and set them on their way once again.   They took some time to do some camping and hit the local hot springs.  Can you imagine jim in a bathing suit?  wish i was there to take some pictures!!  Looks like jim is takin some time to smell the flowers along the way, or in this case, the sulphur........By tonight they will have made it out of california and should be camping under the stars in arizona!!!!  I don't know, 10 days, 2 states, you do the math!!  when do you think they'll be pulling in to the burgh?? stay tuned for more adventures and enjoy the journey................

Meantime, back in the strip, we'll have Bill Toms here tomorrow, great singer songwriter, coffee and cigars are abundant, and as always, just a cool place to hang out!  see ya there................sunny

I was totin' my pack along the long dusty Winnemucca road,
When along came a semi with a high an' canvas-covered load.
"If you're goin' to Winnemucca, Mack, with me you can ride."
And so I climbed into the cab and then I settled down inside.
He asked me if I'd seen a road with so much dust and sand.
And I said, "Listen, I've traveled every road in this here land!"

[Chorus:]
I've been everywhere, man.
I've been everywhere, man.
Crossed the desert's bare, man.
I've breathed the mountain air, man.
Of travel I've had my share, man.
I've been everywhere.

I've been to:
Reno, Chicago, Fargo, Minnesota,
Buffalo, Toronto, Winslow, Sarasota,
Wichita, Tulsa, Ottawa, Oklahoma,
Tampa, Panama, Mattawa, La Paloma,
Bangor, Baltimore, Salvador, Amarillo,
Tocapillo, Baranquilla, and Perdilla, I'm a killer.

[Chorus]

I've been to:
Boston, Charleston, Dayton, Louisiana,
Washington, Houston, Kingston, Texarkana,
Monterey, Faraday, Santa Fe, Tallapoosa,
Glen Rock, Black Rock, Little Rock, Oskaloosa,
Tennessee, Hennessey, Chicopee, Spirit Lake,
Grand Lake, Devils Lake, Crater Lake, for Pete's sake.

[Chorus]

I've been to:
Louisville, Nashville, Knoxville, Ombabika,
Schefferville, Jacksonville, Waterville, Costa Rica,
Pittsfield, Springfield, Bakersfield, Shreveport,
Hackensack, Cadillac, Fond du Lac, Davenport,
Idaho, Jellico, Argentina, Diamantina,
Pasadena, Catalina, see what I mean-a.

[Chorus]

I've been to:
Pittsburgh, Parkersburg, Gravelbourg, Colorado,
Ellisburg, Rexburg, Vicksburg, Eldorado,
Larimore, Admore, Haverstraw, Chatanika,
Chaska, Nebraska, Alaska, Opelika,
Baraboo, Waterloo, Kalamazoo, Kansas City,

[Chorus]
